Dress Shirt Measurements
Dress shirt measurements are useful for getting you a dress shirt that fits you.
Measurements for dress shirts get complicated though, since a lot of tailors measure
you in their own way, and because you, or your friend, might not be measuring yourself
properly either.
To get your dress shirt measurements, it would be ideal for you to be measured by
the specific tailor, who would be cutting your
custom made dress shirt since the tailor would know how to cut the
shirt best and there is less margin for error.
If you were really compelled to measure yourself, the basic areas to measure yourself
include your neck (this is for your
dress shirt’s collar size, and is measured around the base of your
neck), your sleeve length (this is to get you a dress shirt that isn’t too long
or too short on the arms, and is measured from where your neck and shoulders meet
to your wrist), chest (this is so your chest fits snug in your dress shirt, especially
if you are a more muscular guy, who feels
dress shirt are too tight around the chest, or if you are a skinnier
guy who feels dress shirts are too loose around the chest) and your
dress shirt’s waist
(this is so your dress shirt is a
fitted men's dress shirt or a
slim fit dress shirt because full cut dress shirts are baggy
and are not flattering to anybody, but this is measured around your girth).
Use your dress shirt measurements to get a
custom dress shirts that fits, or just pick your normal standard
size and let us know you need a specific size just for the collar. It doesn’t cost
any more to get a perfect fit.
