How does it work?
Design your own custom dress shirt with our dress shirt design application and purchase your creation starting at $45. Special customization makes the price of the dress shirt go up, but a decently customized shirt averages between $65-$75.
What type of fabrics are your dress shirts made of?
We try to update fabric selections every 4 weeks and the fabric types vary depending on what we think our customers will like and what is available at the fabric markets.
There are 100% cotton fabrics as well as polyester cotton blends, ranging from broadcloth, poplin, pinpoint and oxford.
We don't have Egyptian, Sea Island or Pima cotton, but we might be able to get it if you add another zero to how much you want to pay for our shirts ;). But seriously, high-end luxury fabrics also mean high-end prices which don't fall into our mission of making co-created dress shirts available to the individual guy.
Where are your dress shirts made?
Have you ever been to Shanghai? It's a pretty cool place, we'd recommend you visit. Anyway, that's where our dress shirts are individually-made for you. All from scratch from tailors who have had their amazing skills passed down from generation to generation. Yep, they're pretty awesome.
Do you have any wrinkle-free fabrics available?
As a policy, we do not make wrinkle-free or non-iron cotton shirts due to the high formaldehyde concentration used in its production process. We understand that this means losing customers but we also believe in standing behind our values. Sorry...
However, new technology has given us the opportunity to work with wrinkle-resistant fabrics that are not treated with the same harsh chemical process. Whenever we can get hold of these fabrics, we add them to our inventory, so pay special attention to the fabric detail specifications.
Do you make dress shirts for women?
Unfortunately we don't, at least not yet. The core team is a group of stooges, pretty much hombre dudes who would suck at offering dress shirts to women. But we love women, and we want to be able to make them happy so offering co-created dress shirts for women is something we're thinking about all the time. Women's shirts are definitely on the to-do list for 2011.
Are your fabrics from animal sources?
Our fabrics are either 100% cotton or polycotton blends, both of which are not from animal products. Mmm, that'd be weird.
What is the thread count of your fabrics?
It varies...we list specific details about each individual fabric next to each fabric swatch in our design tool.
Can you make me a shirt with a wider collar?
We make Spread / Wide Collars if that helps. But we cannot take specific requests for collars wider than our Spread Collar option.
Can you make me a collarless shirt?
Why would you not want the collar? Anyhow, we do not have that option available at this time. But it's certainly interesting. We add new features every few weeks, so perhaps we will add that with our next updates.
If I send you some fabrics, will you make me some shirts?
That's a neat idea! But unfortunately, it's a liability on our part to have you ship things that don't belong to us. We can't be responsible for the shipping companies losing things. Sorry...
I have a favorite shirt I would you like to copy and duplicate, can you do it?
Ahh, the famous dress shirt you've loved all your life. Sadly we cannot duplicate shirts. We just don't have that capability at this time, although it would be an interesting thing to do.
2. Sizes
I need special sizing. Do you accept customized measurements?
Sure we can! We're an all custom company; so we can usually do pretty much any sizing you'd need. If you're a peculiar body type or have problems with finding shirts that fit, the more details you put in the Actual Shirt Dimensions fields in the sizing part of the design process, the more it'll help our tailors map out a custom sizing profile for you.
If you ever have a measurement that falls outside of the sizing range in our design tool online, go ahead and run through the design app and construct and purchase the shirt you like. Then, once you place your order, send us an email (preferably as soon as possible; it'll be difficult to make a change once the shirt has already started being stitched) and let us know the changes you need to make to any of the sizing dimensions, and we'll make an adjustment to your order.
Do you have short sleeve options? There doesn't seem to be one on the Dress Shirt application.
Yes, we do. All our dress shirts are individually made for you so we can pretty much do anything with it that you want, including making short sleeves. Once you place the order, send us an email and let us know how long you'd like the sleeves to be.
I don't know my measurements. What do you advise?
Regarding sizing, we do sizing a bit differently than you may be used to. Through our experience of doing custom sizing online, providing shirt measurements to make shirts (rather than body measurements to make shirts) is far more accurate. I gave the wrong size. How can I change my order?
You get your email confirmation, you see something not quite right, you want to change it. Please email us straight away at sayhi@blank-label.com within 24 hours of ordering to make order changes.
How does Slim Fit change the dimensions of my shirt?
Slim fit provides the same shirt dimensions as classic fit, only that there are darts on the lower back to bring in a more tapered look.
3. Payment
How do I pay for my shirt?
We accept credit cards Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover as payment on our site. We don't accept cash or check, unless you were able to send it via carrier pigeon...in which case we'd be totally impressed.
I don't have a credit card, can I pay with Paypal?
At this stage we don't accept Paypal as a form of payment (ironic because we used to), but are looking to implement it back into our billing system.
I want to cancel my order. How do I do that?
Given our shirts are individually-made for you and we try to get them to you as quickly as possible, we as policy only accept cancellations 24 hours after you place the order. We hope you agree this is fair. We make it easy by simply sending an email to sayhi@blank-label.com and stating the name and email you ordered with.
4. Shipping
Where do you ship?
We accept international orders and ship anywhere DHL and TNT goes. That's quite a few places… so mostly anywhere where humans are. But we mostly ship anywhere within the 50 states.
What's the normal delivery wait?
There are 3 different speeds of delivery you can choose. If you're Chillin, you can pay $9 for U.S. or $18 for international to get it in 18-20 business days--essentially 4 weeks.
If you want Runnin that's $12 or $21 depending on U.S. or international and gets to you in 12-15 business days.
And if you're really Rushin then you can get it in 8-10 business days for $17 for U.S. or $24 for international.
How much is shipping and handling?
It is $9 for shipping and handling (U.S. Domestic) for the first dress shirt on your order and $5 per shirt after that, so 3 shirts will cost $19 to ship. International shipping starts at $18 for the first shirt, and $3 extra for each shirt added to your order.
I gave the wrong shipping address.

I could not complete the transaction, it says International shipping disabled? What did I do wrong?
The shipping address is US by default. You have to change to your country when asked for your shipping address to enable international shipping options.
I want to check the status of my order. Can you provide me with a tracking number?
Order, what order? Just kidding. Once your shirt ships, you'll receive an email with the tracking number so you can follow the status of your package as it makes the journey to your home.
5. Returns,Refunds And Cancellations
The specifications of this dress shirt are not to what I ordered. What should I do?
Because all our stitching is done by humans and not machines, there is the chance of human error. If there is a specification error in your design, we will ask you to return the shirt to our charity partner. Then, once we have your tracking number from the shirt you're returning, along with any design or sizing changes, we'll re-make the shirt and send it out to you at the delivery speed you ordered. The shirt doesn't fit. What should I do?
As you can probably tell from our dress shirt design application, we are about designing something yourself, really owning it. Custom fit is extremely difficult to do online. We aim for a good fit the first time, and improving the fit over time with tweaks. If it doesn't fit well the first time, we'll we will ask you to return the shirt to our charity partner. Then, once we have your tracking number from the shirt you're returning, along with any design or sizing changes, we'll re-make the shirt and send it out to you at the delivery speed you ordered. Can I change or cancel my order?
If you email us within 24 hours, we can probably stop the production of your co-creation, or make any necessary amendments to the order.
Once we have finished stitching your co-creation, we cannot change or cancel your order since all our dress shirts are individually made and once we've started stitching, we can't turn back. Also, it would be wasteful to have an individually made dress shirt canceled after it's already been made.
6. Other Questions
Are gift cards and gift certificates available?
Yes, we do! You'll find the order form here.
I want to save my shirt designs. How do I do that?
For now, the best way to do this is to bookmark the URL of your shirt design on your browser. (We know this is a little lame, we're working on something better.)
Is my information safe?
